It is spring time and it is time to start using bright colors on your lips and eyes. Harper Bazaar writes, “When it comes to beauty looks, bare is always beautiful—but so is a bit of color on the face. Fortunately the spring shows offered us both options this season.” (Spring 2013 Makeup Trends - Best Makeup Trends for Spring 2013 - Harper's BAZAAR )
So what is trendy this spring? As always, a pop of color is recommended. Whether you go for a bold crimson lip, turquoise jewelry, or mint pants, the hottest beauty trend right now is bright bold colors.
Lips:
Paint’em Red—the key this spring is to have bright red lips. It is a nice, refreshing splash of color to your face. Harper Bazaar explains that this trend has been popular among many designers recently, “noticeably at Burberry where models wore a creamy scarlet hue that generated major buzz. At Prada, makeup queen Pat McGrath went for a matte crimson, outlining the outermost part of lips in red pencil that accentuated the shape of the mouth”
Two-Toned Lip:
Another common trend this spring is the two toned lip colors. Some products already come with the two colors, but I say, what is the fun in that? You should experiment with the colors you have and try a multi-toned lip color. It makes your lips look fuller and more interesting.
Hair:
Extensions are the hottest trend in terms of hair this season. Mostly, people are opting for clip-ins which are easier to manage. Extensions give your hair a fuller, more voluminous appearance, which is awesome! If you can get some strands of the extensions in pastel colors, you get freebie points in terms of fashion. Sea salt sprays are also another hot trend in beauty because it is a natural way to make your hair wavy without using any heat products. Next, if you can make your hair a funky color (mine is currently white but it used to be purple), you are tapping to your inner mermaid and you are on par with the hottest beauty trends this spring.
Eyes:
Black eyeliner is still the hottest trend this spring. If you can get that cat eye or play with your eyeliner, you are off to a good start. You can play with fake eyelashes and set your inner Twiggy free. Another thing that is really in fashion is big lashes, long lashes. You want them to be dramatic. You can use false eyelashes. There are some really good reviews on Maybelline’s Falsies mascara. For an animal-friendlier approach, use any of Physician Formula’s mascaras. I love them all. I have their organic one and it works wonders with my lashes.
